Lead-safety Message: When children are too young or hurried to take their shoes off at the door or if you have pets that come inside or contractors at your home, it’s a really good idea to have a Homezy Clean Step microfibre machine-washable mat on the floor inside the back door and you can even lay it there wet from the washing machine. Hose-able mats are good on the outside too.

Lead-safety Message: I’ve followed the Persian culinary tradition of using huge bunches of herbs and other greens fresh from the market to make daily salads, yoghurt dip, hummus and garlic dip my entire adult life. Perhaps the leafy greens, herbs, chick peas, sesame seeds, olive oil and all that garlic has helped drag lead out of my bones.

Lead-safety Message: Food, medicine and supplements I take daily, approximately meal-ordered – with acid reflux meds. My basic approach is to eat healthy foods including nuts/seeds, beans, greens and berries daily and to take every lead detox food like FeEDTA baked foods, psyllium, garlic, ginger, herbs and supplement like Vit C, Vit D and calcium, magnesium, sea minerals and pectin powder, plus the foods and supplements which overcome some of the problems caused by lead, like creatine, sea buckthorn oil and yoghurt.

Lead-safety Message: Protect our oceans from lead and leaded microplastics. Ban the addition of lead to all plastics including PVC, and to printing inks used on all packaging. Don’t let chalky lead paint or leaded PVC cladding be washed in to stormwater. Protect waterways and oceans from all toxics and from climate change if its not too late!

Lead-safety Message: On 17 Feb 2026 I started adding a teaspoon of yoghurt to each of 3 drinks and 3 meals per day in order to improve my immune health, which I know can be negatively impacted by lead. The yoghurt plus pectin-rich prune and dried apricot stewing water made my MCP (modified citrus pectin) powder and sea minerals taste better in rainwater! Also eaten daily are fresh ginger, garlic, red onion and FeEDTA banana bread.

Lead-safety Message: Pre-industrial era foods would have been low in lead except for communities near volcanos or forest fires which both emit lead. Pumpkin stew or orange lentil stew would both have helped to reduce lead absorption and remove any lead imbibed in alcoholic drinks, from the body.

Lead-safety Message: If you have a ceramic jug at home that’s got cracked or chalking glazing, it’s best not to use it for drinks, especially not for acidic fruit juice, but its fine to use it as a vase. Just don’t put it in the dishwasher in case the heat further degrades the glaze and releases lead and/or cadmium on to your other crockery and utensils in the load.

Lead-safety Message: Crafting like making amigurumi (Japanese) crochet baby giraffes is quite a challenge but I’m so glad I made one for my sister’s granddaughter – even if I did need help from ChatGPT to follow the instructions. It all helps stave off dementia!
