Lead-safety Message: If you have a ceramic jug at home that’s got cracked or chalking glazing, it’s best not to use it for drinks, especially not for acidic fruit juice, but its fine to use it as a vase. Just don’t put it in the dishwasher in case the heat further degrades the glaze and releases lead and/or cadmium on to your other crockery and utensils in the load.
