Lead-safety Message: Stop leaded soil track-in with wet washable towels at the back door. After washing a load and laying the towels back down wet from the machine, wet-wipe down the machine and run a cycle with no washing to clean the bowl for ordinary clothes washing.

Description of Work: This is a collage of photographs of a series of tests using LeadCheck swabs. Points to note are that no colour change is seen on a lead crystal glass, on paint overlaying lead paint, and on the Minnie Mouse mug that I had used for years. No applause for the makers of the last item.

Description of Work: Revealed 19th Century Advertising that was once on an external wall, but has been revealed as now an internal wall that will be a feature wall of a living room. The advertising was for two newspapers, The Evening News (1867-1931) and the Town and Country Journal (1870_1919) published by Samuel Bennett.
