Lead-safety Message: Pre-industrial era foods would have been low in lead except for communities near volcanos or forest fires which both emit lead. Pumpkin stew or orange lentil stew would both have helped to reduce lead absorption and remove any lead imbibed in alcoholic drinks, from the body.
