Title: Broken Hill Lead Dust. Lead-Safety Message: This is where my journey began with
lead and I’ve spent more than 40 years telling my story so this cycle of lead mine lead
poisoning can be broken. New lead mines are not going to fulfil any of the promises broken
repeatedly by existing lead mines and by the governments that support mines instead of
people. Sign the Circular Economy for Lead petition at https://www.aph.gov.au/e-
petitions/petition/EN6714 before it closes on Wed 04 Dec 2024 11:59 PM (AEDT) to keep
lead safely in the ground, like wise First Nations Australians have done for tens of
thousands of years. Description of Work: Poster with a photo of my sons’ first back yard
beside the mine train line in Gaffney Street, and the Melissa Sweet SMH 12th April 1997
article Mother blames mine trains for three frail sons.

Title: Protesting against the Lead mine at Lue
Lead-Safety Message: My community has spent the last 12 years protesting against the
proposed Bowden lead mine at Lue yet, as things stand, any new lead mine proposal on
your home or farm or waterways is practically 100% likely to be approved no matter how
unjustifiable the destruction of aboriginal heritage, water, wildlife, agriculture, tourism or
cost of infrastructure and drain on non-renewable energy and dwindling clean water. Sign
the Circular Economy for Lead petition at https://www.aph.gov.au/e-
petitions/petition/EN6714 before it closes on Wed 04 Dec 2024 11:59 PM (AEDT) to keep
lead safely in the ground, and start instead, collecting and recycling existing lead to meet
future needs.
Description of Work: Photo of protest in mid Oct 2024 with Mudgee Region Health
Alliance and Mudgee Region Action Group and Sen Cate Faehrmann NSW Greens MLC.
