Lead-safety Message: Pelicans die of lead poisoning when they ingest lead shot or lead fishing tackle/sinkers. Small sinkers (under 2cm diameter) are most often consumed. All leaded ammunition and fishing sinkers should be banned and fished out of sediments so our pelicans can live.
