Lead-safety Message: We used a LEAD Group Kit to find out our farm soil is good and low in lead. The LEAD Group says broccoli is a great lead detox food, but in Port Pirie, children and pregnant women are told not to eat home-grown “leafy vegetables like lettuce, silverbeet, cabbage, broccoli and cauliflower”. Instead, they could treat the soil with RC3 Yard N Garden Potassium Humate to bind the lead to the soil, and then start eating their leafy greens and backyard eggs!
