Near the winter solstice, plant good organic (not imported bleached Chinese) garlic cloves tip-upwards just below the surface 10 cm apart in deep rich well-drained elevated soil and water in well. Near the summer solstice pick the whole plants and hang up in a well-ventilated room in your home with no direct sun. Remember to keep the best bulbs for next season for seeds so to speak. You will then end up with garlic suited to your soil and location.
